Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an electrically conductive vinyl chloride resin compsn. having improved carbon black-dispersiblity and moldability, by blending carbon black with a specified vinyl chloride graft polymer.
CONSTITUTION: 99.5W80pts.wt. vinul chloride monomer or monomer mixture consisting of vinyl chloride and not more than 20wt% (based on the amount of vinyl chloride) other ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith, is graft-polymerized in the presence of 0.5W20pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl ester copolymer having a reduced viscosity (ηsp/C) of 0.03W0.45 as measured in a xylene soln. at 75°C to obtain a vinyl chloride graft polymer. The titled resin compsn. consists of 100pts.wt. said graft polymer and 2W40pts.wt. carbon black and, if necessary, further a stabilizer, a lubricant, etc. When the reduced viscosity exceeds 0.45, an improvement in moldability and easy dispersibility of carbon black can not be achieved. When the viscosity is below 0.03, the thermal properties and the mechanical strength of moldings are lowered.
