Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the anticorrosive property of a furnace by a method wherein castable refractories 12 are filled between fins 11 of water pipes 10 to thereby form the title water cooled wall. CONSTITUTION:Finned water pipes 10 are arranged parallel to each other with the fins 11 being made to lie nearly adjacent to each other and the pipes are then fixed to the inside of the wall of the furnace by a suitable means. In this case, castable refractories 12 are filled between the fins 11 of the water pipes 10 so that a combustion gas in the furnace is prevented from coming into direct contact with the side surfaces of the water pipes and fins even in the region such as the stoker level of the furnace which is most liable to corrosion, to thereby improve the anticorrosive property of the furnace.
