Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to obtain both-sided copying and multiple copying, and to prevent a sheet from being fed unnecessarily by providing a paper discharging tray itself with a conveyance inverting and uninverting function, and then deciding on a conveyance guide according to it. CONSTITUTION:For both-sided copying, transfer paper discharged onto a tray 11 after copying is done once is inserted between rollers 10' and 10'' by its own weight and through the rotation of the roller 10', and stacked and aligned in an intermediate tray 15 through a path 14; and reverse-surface copying is performed by a photosensitive drum 8 and after fixation, it is discharged onto the tray 11 again. For one-sided multiple copying, the attitudes of the tray 11 are changed to convey and stack transfer paper having the 1st side copied in the tray 15 without inverting the feed direction. For negative alignment and sorting by a sorter, the attitudes of the tray 11 are set selectively according to a difference among one-sided copying, one-sided multiple copying, and both-sided copying and guide mechanisms for paths 12-14 are operated synchronously to convery the transfer paper in a prescribed direction.
