Abstract
PURPOSE:To turn a hose belt by use of buoyancy, by producing volume difference in the hose belt itself by use of turning members and reciprocally moved and gravity- operated valves. CONSTITUTION:The volume of divisional chambers 4 having stop valves is changed with the depth of water, and the volume of the hose belt 1 is reduced as the depth of water is increased. Since reciprocally moved and gravity-operated valves 3 are opened on the left side of the belt 1, the volume of the hose belt 1 is decreased abruptly at a depth of water corresponding to the volume of the hose belt 1 at its critical point of tension. Further, since the hose belt 1 is made of a resilient material, volume difference is produced on the opposite sides of the hose belt 1, so that the belt 1 is turned by buoyancy produced by the volume difference. Along with turning of the belt 1, air required therefor is carried to the left side of the belt 1 by an upper and a lower chambers just coming to the upper and lower dead points, respectively. That is, since the belt part passing around an upper rotor 12 is pushed flat by a turning shaft 15, air in the belt 1 is made to flow back downwards to the left. On the other hand, near the lower dead point of the lower rotor, the valve 3 is opened by the function of gravity and centrifugal force, so that air is made to flow into left chambers of the belt 1.
