Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the amplitude of air-fuel ratio in any operating condition of the engine by a method wherein an I gain in a PI control is increased or decreased depending on the revolution number of the engine in the system controlling the air-fuel ratio by feedback effected by the PI control. CONSTITUTION:When an O2 sensor 1, provided in an exhaust gas system, has decided rich or lean during the operation of the engine, the output signal thereof is amplified at an amplifier 2, thereafter, is supplied to an up-down counter 3 to cause therein a down or an up count operation. On the other hand, the output signl of a revolution number sensor 4 is supplied to the clock terminal of the counter 3 through a wave-form shaper 5, however, the frequency of this signal is varied in proportion to the revolution number of the engine, therefore, the count value of said counter 3 is changed in the changing speed thereof in accordance with the revolution number of the engine. The expected purpose may be achieved by utilizing this count value as the I gain for the PI control of the air-fuel ratio.
