Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered hard alloy having exceptionally high plastic deformation resistance and high toughness, by sintering the sintered hard alloy once at a sintering temp. then heating the sintered body again at specific temps.
CONSTITUTION: A sintered hard alloy which is a composite material of a hard material such as carbide, nitride or the like and a ferrous metal is once sintered at an ordinary sintering temp., after which it is cooled at ≤800°C in a cooling process. Thereafter, this is again held for ≥10min at 1,250W1,330°C, and is then cooled. Here, if the reheating temp. is below the lower limit, there is no effect of improving plastic deformation resistance, and in excess of the upper limit, the effect is not marked. If the reheating time is ≤10min, no improving effect is anticipated. Further unless the cooling temp. after the sintering is ≤800°C, the effect of improving the plastic deformation resistant is not observed.
