Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the installation of a clutch between the last zone and preceding adjacent zone of a chain-driven roller conveyor, by dividing the conveyor into several zones and providing a speed increase/decrease unit between the first and second zones. CONSTITUTION:A storage conveyor 1 is provided with a speed increase/decrease unit 24 between the first zone X1 and second zone X2 of the conveyor. A clutch 29 is installed between the second zone X2 and third zone X3. As a result, the distance between conveyed articles can be shortened when they are conveyed from the first zone X1 toward the second zone X2 by directly driving the conveyor rollers of the first zone. The distance between the conveyed articles can be lengthened when they are conveyed in the opposite direction by directly driving the conveyor rollers of the first zone X1.
