Abstract

PURPOSE:To reset a guiding plate automatically upon starting of copying operation by providing a means of resetting a movable guiding means driven by one member operating prior to the operation of a resist roller to the guiding position for a sheet. CONSTITUTION:A driving power transmission mechanism consisting of an electromagnet 12 mounted to a side plate 8, a magnetic clutch plate 13, and an input sprocket wheel 14 freely slidable in an axial direction by rolling loosely on a resist roller shaft 11 and a braking mechanism consisting of an electromagnet 16 and a friction plate 17 freely slidable in an axial direction by turning integrally with the shaft 11 are mounted respectively to one end of the shaft 11. To drive the shaft 11, the electromagnet 12 is energized to engage the clutch plate 13 and the wheel 14 by friction. To brake the shaft 11, the electromagnet 16 is energized to attract the plate 17 to the side face of the electromagnet 16.
