Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent overheating of a lighter body, by a method wherein, in a cigar lighter which lights tabaco through heating of a heater, a fusing member is fused at an abnormal overheating, and a terminal at a body side is separated from a terminal at a power source side by a returning action of the terminal itself at the body side. CONSTITUTION:In case a bimetal 10 fails to be separated from a heater 4 due to breakage of a spring 9 even if the heater 4 engages the bimetal 10 and attains a given temperature, a lighter body 3 is abnormally overheated through heating of the heater 4. The overheating is transferred to a fusing member 18 through a bimetal securing rod 12 and a terminal 14 at a body side. The fusing member 18 is fused by high temperature, it suspends its pressing of the terminal 14 at the body side, and it is separated from a terminal 16 at a power source side through a return action of the terminal 14 itself at the body side to turn OFF an energizing circuit. This prevents the lighter body 3 from being hated to a tempeature higher than the fusing temperature of the fusing member 18.
