Abstract
PURPOSE:To read an original with a simple constitution, high speed and high resolution, by reading the original reflected light at a state of standstill or almost standstill within one photodetecting time of a photodetector, in a continuous scanning process. CONSTITUTION:An original placed on a transparent plate 6 is illuminated in a slit state with a light source 7 so as to make the direction Y lengthwise. A reflected light corresponding to the contrast of an original pattern is formed on the photodetecting plane of a solid-state scanning element 11 via the 1st mirror 8, the 2nd mirror 9, and a lens 10. At readout, the 1st mirror 8 and the light source 7 are incorporatedly moved toward the X in the speed of VS and the 2nd mirror 9 is moved in 1/2VS to the same direction. The 1st mirror 8 is coupled with a minute oscillator 13, and the image of the photodetector projected on the original plane is moved intermittently toward the X and the scanning toward the Y is made with temporarily stopped photodetection time.
