Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a seal part having a good appearance and a high precision, by forming a radial seal pattern in the center of one insulating substrate and providing a radial patter, which fills lack parts of said seal pattern, on the other insulating substrate and sticking these insulating substrates to each other. CONSTITUTION:In a display element where a round hole 1 or a rectangular hole 2 is provided in a liquid crystal display part and this hole 1 or 2 is used for the display other than the liquid crystal display, when a seal for, for example, the round hole 1 is formed, a radial seal pattern 10 is formed on one insulating substrate as shown in figure (a), and a radial seal pattern 12 having a shape to fill seal lack parts 11 of the seal pattern 10 is formed on the other insulating substrate as shown in figure (b). When these insulating substrates are stuck to each other, parts (a) and (d) and parts (b) and (e) facing to each other respectively fill lack parts mutually to seal the round hole 1. Thus, a liquid crystal display element with a good appearance and the seal width precision improved is obtained.
