PURPOSE:To enhance reliability of operation of a rotary compressor, by increasing rigidity of compressor body clamping sections by shaping an enclosed container almost in a spherial form having a high rigidity and making improvements on the configuration and positions of the compressor body clamping sections, and thereby minimizing deformation of the enclosed container due to the load of high-pressure gas. CONSTITUTION:By forming projections 11c projected slightly inwards from the inner wall surface of an enclosed container 11 to serve as sections for clamping a compressor body 12 to the enclosed container 11, rigidity of the container 11 itself and the compressor body clamping sections is increased and deformation of the enclosed container 11 due to high-pressure discharge gas can be minimized. Resultantly, deformation of the constituent parts of the compressor is also minimized, so that the compressor can be operated in a stable manner. Further, by positioning bolts used for clamping a stator 13a in a rectangular form in fabricating support legs 15b of a cylinder 15, the volume of a hollow space formed at a lower part of the enclosed container 11 can be increased to a great extent. Therefore, it is enabled to increase the amount of lubricating oil sealed in the container 11 and hence to solve the problem such as seizure due to shortage of lubricating oil.
