Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a pump and also to simplify the molding operation in fabricating the pump, by forming a liquid accumulating chamber, a suction port and a discharge passage in a base, and constructing a pump assembly by coupling the base and a bracket mounting thereon a motor to each other, thus dividing the assembly into two units and reducing the number of component parts to a great extent. CONSTITUTION:A bracket 1 is designed such that a casing cylinder 12 for constituting a pump casing and an air separating chamber 13, while a liquid accumulating chamber 44, a suction port 27 and a discharge passage 33 are prefabricated in a base 26. The bracket 1 and the base 26 are coupled together in a watertight manner by means of bolts 35, with an O-ring 36 being interposed therebetween. Thus, a pump assembly is constructed by prefabricating the suction port 27 and discahrge passage 33 in the base 26 and then coupling the base 26 with the bracket 1 having a motor mounted thereon. By employing such an arrangement, it is enabled to simplify the configuration of the base 26 and bracket 1, to simplify the molding tools used for fabricating them with a synthetic resin, and also to simplify the molding operation.
