Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sponge like metal sheet having enhanced corrosion resistance and surface roughness most suitable for a plasma spraying groundwork by preparing the sponge sheet which is attached to the heat conductive pipe of a boiler or the like for the sake of the protection thereof and coated thereto by plasma spraying by applying Cr to a material obtained by burning an Ni plated foamed resin. CONSTITUTION:At first, a foamed resin having opened void pores such as urethane foam or the like is, for example, washed sufficiently by water and subsequently immersed in a SnCl2 solution acidified with hydrochloric acid to adhere Sn<++> onto the surface thereof. When this surface treated resin is withdrawn upwardly and immersed in a PdCl2 solution, Pd particles are uniformly adhered to the surface thereof by reducing action of Sn<++> and electroconductive treatment is applied. After this treatment, electroless Ni plating using NaH2PO2 or the like as a reducing agent is applied thereto and electrolytic Ni plating is further carried out to form a thick plating layer. When this, plated resin is introduced into an electric furnace, only the resin is burnt to leave Ni 1 having pores 2 in a sponge like condition. The resulting Ni 1 is embedded in a mixed powder comprising Cr, A]2O3 and NH4Cl and heated while H2 is flowed and diffusion penetrating treatment of Cr is applied to obtain a sponge like sheet having a rough surface 3.
