Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a titled device that can check whether the addition of an additive is correct or not in a position apart from the supply end for the additive by detecting the flow rate of the additive between an additive charger and the gas force-feeding part at the other end of an additive supply pipe, and detecting the gaseous pressure in the supply pipe. CONSTITUTION:The start of charging by tilting of a charging ladle 4 is detected with an IR ray thermometer 21, and an opening-closing damper 14 is opened by the signal thereof to charge 13a an additive into a supply port 10. The flow rate thereof is detected with a flow rate detector 15. The additive charged into the port 10 is ejected from a gas force-feeding part 7 through a supply pipe 6 then out through the opening 6a at one end thereof so that it is added into the molten metal released from the discharge end 2a of a charging spout 2 via a chute 3 from a ladle 4. The charging state of the additive into the port 10, that is, the charing flow rate of the additive, is measured with the device 15 and its processing device 18, and whether the charging flow rate is in a normal range or not is checked. If it is out of the range, it is displayed that the charging is in an abnormal state. Molten metal is charged from the spout 2, and a prescribed amt. of the additive is added to this molten metal, thence it is cast in a rotating metallic mold 1.
