Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive connection-free acceleration pedal sensor by relating the displacement of a displacement detection plate to the depression of an acceleration pedal. CONSTITUTION:This sensor has an excitation coil 20 to which an exciting voltage is applied, an output coil 22 adapted to obtain an output signal induced therewith and a displacement detection plate 24 adapted to vary mutual inductance between both the coils 20 and 22. Cores 21 and 23 of the exciting coil 20 and the output coil 22 are shaped in the section elongated in the direction of the displacement plate 24 displaces. The distance is varied along the direction of displacement between opposed ends of the cores 21 and 23 to relate the displacement detection plate 24 to an acceleration pedal 4 of a vehicle so that the displacement of the displacement detection plate 24 will be related to depression thereof.
