Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute economic and effective cooling, by turning a cooling fan as a windmill to rotate a water pump connected thereto, when the temperature of cooling water has dropped to a prescribed level during the driving of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of the cooling water of an engine E' has risen to a prescribed level, a thermostat S is closed to drive a DC motor M'. A cooling fan F' and a water pump WP' are driven by the DC motor M' to forcedly supply air to a radiator R' and circulate the high-temperature cooling water through the radiator and hoses 7, 4, 5. When the temperature of the cooling water has become lower than a predetermined level, the DC motor M' is stopped but, if a strong wind acts to the cooling fan F' because of the high moving speed of a vehicle, the fan is turned to rotate the water pump WP' to circulate the cooling water through a by-pass hose 6.
