Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of soil and sand when performing a temporary timbering work by providing a tail portion consisting of upper and lower sheathing blades and a head portion consisting of upper and lower knife blades and also providing receiving bars on said head portion. CONSTITUTION:An excavating and sheathing apparatus consists of a tail portion consisting of upper sheathing blades 22 and lower sheathing blades 33, a head portion consisting of upper and lower knife blades 7, and receiving bars 13 and 17. The lower knife blade consists of an auxiliary knife blade 10 and an auxiliary blade 9. Said apparatus is inserted into a hole, a sheet pile 30 is set in a space formed by the blades 2 and 3 and the facing of the trench formed, and a temporary timbering 40 is constructed. While preventing the degradation of soil by the blades 2, 3, 7, and 10, the receiving bars 17 and 13 are orderly hooked by the bucket of an excavator, the blades 7 and 10 are advanced, and the ground between the right and left-handed blades is excavated by the bucket.
