PURPOSE:To make possible printing even when an applied voltage to an electromagnet is low by a structure wherein a platen is made of magnetic substance, one pole is approached to a recording sheet and an electromagnet with a sharp tip is provided on the other pole and magnetic ink is stored in this sharp tip. CONSTITUTION:A platen g for guiding a recording sheet 1 is made of magnetic substance and an electromagnet 3 is provided on the uppar part of this platen 2. One flat pole 4 of this electromagnet 3 is brought into contact with or approached to the recording sheet 1, a coiling part 6 is provided through this flat pole 4 and a permanent magnet 5 and the other pole of the electromagnet 3 makes a sharp tip 8. A holding part 10 which opens on the side of the platen 2 and stores magnetic ink 11 is provided around the tip 8. Driving current is applied into the coil 9 of the electromagnet 3, a strong magnetic field is concentrated to the point of the tip 8, a force is generated by which the neighboring ink 11 makes the shape of a rod between the tip 8 and the platen 2 and the ink 11 is splashed from the point of the tip 8.
