Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable stabilization of an action of a temperature detector, by a method wherein a thermistor is held in a metal cap by means of a push spring and a spring supporter, and the cap is fastened to a cooling water path to detect temperature of engine cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A small disc-shaped thermistor 2 is mounted to a bottom part of a cap 1 made of a steel material, the upper surface thereof is pressed by a push spring 4, made of a conductive material, through a spring supporter made of a conductive material, and the upper end of the push spring 4 is connected to a terminal 12 through a stopper 14. Meanwhile, the upper closing part of the cap 1, making contact with the under surface of the thermistor 2, is connected to a terminal 13 through a push spring 19. The cap 1 is covered with an intermediate insulating cover 6 into which plastic is molded, and the side is airtightly housed in a metal case 7 fabricated with a thread part 20. The cap is secured to an engine cooling water path through the thread part 20.
