Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency by connecting a rocker rod capable of rocking around a fixed fulcrum to a valve body, and connecting a movable member pressing the valve body to an intermediate portion of the rocker rod through a spring. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of hot water is lower than the set temperature, a material enclosed in a thermoelement 6 shrinks, and if the movable member 19 is at its elevated position, movable fulcrums 28a, 28b of a spring 28 are above the horizontal level of a fixed fulcrum 24. Thus, the spring 28 raises the rocker rod 25 and the valve body 15 is at its elevated open position. The raised position of the valve is limited by the position of connecting portion 21 making contact with contact portion 22. When the temperature of hot water rises, a material enclosed in a thermoelement 6 expands and the movable member 19 downs gradually. Consequently, the valve body 15 is pressed down, reducing the opening of valve little by little. As a result, the opening of the valve body, is narrowed as the temperature of water in a hot water supply apparatus 2 is raised, consequently the size of flame of a burner 3 is reduced.
