Abstract

PURPOSE:To accelerate heat radiation by the flow of a gas flowing along fins and to improve the heat resistance and durability of a torch by projecting a contact tip coaxially from a shielding gas nozzle and providing plural convergent fins in the axial line direction of the outside circumference thereof. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical contact tip 11 is mounted coaxially to a welding torch 10 consisting of a combination of an inside cylindrical nozzle 12 and an outside cylindrical nozzle 13 by projecting therefrom. Four pieces of convergent branch-like fins 15 are provided on the outside circumference of the tip 11 in parallel by leaving spacings in the axial line direction and inclining these convergently when viewed from the nozzles 12, 13 sides. With the tip 11 held inserted in a groove 3, the torch 10 is set. While a shielding gas is supplied through a gas supply port 16, electric power is supplied to an electric power supply terminal 17. Then, the electric power is conducted via the torch body 10, and the tip 11 to a wire 14, and the arc is generated between the wire 14 and welding maqerials 1, whereby the materials are welded.
