Abstract

PURPOSE:To voluminously and efficiently deburr and smooth the media by a method wherein a tubular rotary tank, at the lower part of which hoppers are provided for receiving the deburred and smoothed media and at both ends of which the intake and discharge ports of water are respectively provided through sieve screen, is rotatingly provided about its horizontal axis center line. CONSTITUTION:The hoppers 10 and 17 are provided at the lower part of the rotatingly and horizontally supported tubular rotary tank 1. The rotary tank 1 has a pair of hollow rotary shafts 2 and 2', one end of each of which is fixed at the axis center part of each of both the ends of the rotary tank 1, and a pair of the sieve screens, each of which is fixed at each of both the inside ends of the rotary tank 1. The hoppers 10 and 17 have a cover 11 arranged in such a manner as to cover the peripheral wall of the rotary tank at the location of the discharge port of media 7. Crude media charged into the hopper 17 are charged from a charging port 6 into the rotary tank 1 by means of conveyors 16 and 18 and rotated within the rotary tank 1. At the same time, water is supplied from a water supply pipe 8 through the shaft 2 at one end of the tank 1 so as to cause the media to rub one another, resulting in beveling and smoothing. Sludge generated at this time is drained from the shaft 2' through a drain pipe 9.
