Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the mechanical characteristics and swelling resistance of a metallic Mo material at high temp. by adding a specified amount of Nb to the Mo material used as the material of the 1st wall of a vacuum vessel for a nuclear fusion apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: ≥0.05wt% Nb is added to a high m.p. Mo material used as the material of the 1st wall of a vacuum vessel for a nulcear fusion apparatus. Since Mo as the matrix metal is a high m.p. metal, this Mo material has sufficient heat resistance, and by adding Nb, the void swelling resistance and mechanical characteristics are improved. For example, the ductility is increased after irradiation.
