Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a reception system with low cost and high sensitivity without a highly stable oscillator, by transmitting a signal in N-multiplied frequency and a fundamental frequency from a transmission on section, receiving the signal at a reception section, and mixing the signal with a local oscillating frequency for multiplication. CONSTITUTION:In a radio communication in a microwave or milliwave band, the output of an oscillation 1 in a fundamental frequency fs is divided into two, a fundamental wave route A and a harmonic wave route B, and the electromagnetic waves of the route A are radiated from a fundamental wave transmission antenna 3 and the waves on the route B are multiplied by N and radiated from a harmonic wave transmission antenna 4. The fundamental wave is received at an antenna 5 at the reception section, the wave is converted into an intermediate frequency fIF=fs-fL with a frequency fL from a local oscillator 9 and multiplied by N at a multiplier 11 via a limiter 10. The output of the multiplier 11 is mixed with the output of a reference oscillator 13 in frequency f0 at a mixer 12 for shift and the output frequency fx becomes fx=N(fs-fL)-f0. The harmonic waves are received at an antenna 6 and converted into fIPM=N(fs-fL), mixed with the frequency fx at a mixer 14 and converted into fIPM-fx=f0. High stability can be obtained by selecting the f0 in the VHF band.
