Abstract

PURPOSE:To make channel switching surely, by interrupting an audio signal transmitting line and releasing an automatic frequency controlling circuit at the same time in performing muting operation. CONSTITUTION:When a channel is switched to receive another broadcast station while receiving a broadcast station in a TV receiver, a muting voltage is applied to a terminal 12. Thus, a muting circuit 8 inhibits an output of an audio detecting signal from an audio signal demodulation circuit 10 to prevent the generation of noise. Simultaneously, the circuit 8 supplies a control signal to an automatic frequency controlling circuit 7 to release the operation. In the circuit 8, a video signal processing circuit and an audio signal processing circuit are integrated in one integrating circuit and the audio signal transmission path is interrupted and the automatic frequency control circuit is released by giving one control signal. Then, the oscillating frequency is not stopped at the frequency of a vacant channel or other channels at the channel switching, allowing to obtain sure channel switching.
