Abstract
PURPOSE: A herbicide, containing 2-[1-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-ethylsulfonyl]-pyridine-1-oxide and a nonhormonal phenylurea herbicide, and capable of controlling completely all of the main annual weeds one time in a small amout thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A herbicide for upland farming containing 2-[1-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-ethylsulfonyl]-pyridine-1-oxide of formulaIand a compound of formula II (R is lower alkyl or lower alkoxyl), e.g. 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1- methylurea as active constituents, and capable of effectively controlling all of the annual weeds in upland farming in a period from before the development of the weed to the latter period of the development by the soil treatment. The compound of formula II is used in an amount of 0.1W1.0pts.wt. preferably 0.3W 0.8pts.wt., based on one pt.wt. compound of formulaI, and applied in an amount of 5W50g, preferably 10W25g, expressed in terms of the active constituents.
