Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a herbicidal composition effective to the true-grass, broad- leaved, and perennial weeds grown in cultivated land or uncultivated land, e.g. paddy rice field or plowed land, containing an aminomethylene diphosphonic acid derivative and an effective component of an yellow-dye participating, light-requiring herbicide.
CONSTITUTION: A herbicide containing (A) N-[2-(3-methylpyridyl)]aminomethylenediphosphonic acid I (novel compound) or its salt and (B) the effective component of an yellow-dye participating, light-requiring herbicide (e.g. a compound II), and (C) additives such as surface active agent, solvent, etc. The herbicide is apllied in the form of wettable powder, water solution, emulsifiable concentrate, etc. to the leaves and stalks of weeds. Application rates: 0.1W300g/are of (A) and 0.01W100g/are of (B). The composition has rapid-acting synergistic effect to true- grass, broad-leaved or perennial weeds, at low application rate.
