Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to reduce the flow rate of coolant while preventing over- drop of evaporation pressure, by providing a means for varying the conductance to the flow of coolant at an intermediate portion between an evaporator and a suction space of a compressor during its suction cycle. CONSTITUTION:When fluid conductance to coolant is changed by a first variable means 5 disposed on the suction side of a compressor 1, suction pressure Ps of the compressor 1 is changed. This results in changing of the density of coolant, so that the mass of coolant drawn per one suction cycle of the compressor 1 and also its discharge quantity per one compression cycle are both changed. By the resultant change of the flow rate of circulated coolant, the cooling capacity of a cooler 4 as well as the heating capacity of a condenser 2 are varied. By thus providing a variable fluid conductance means 5 at an intermediate portion between the evaporator 4 and compressor 1, it is enabled to reduce the flow rate of coolant while preventing over-drop of evaporation pressure.
