Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a shell-shaped mold at the room temperature, by supplying setting gas to the gas-setting casting sand by way of a lower mold model which bears the casting sand of gas-setting ability. CONSTITUTION:A space surrounded by the mold frame 1 and lower mold model 2 is filled with casting sand 14 which is mixed with gas-setting resin. Next, the setting gas is sent to a chamber 4 and supplied into the casting sand 14 by way of the gas- passing duct 5 of the model 2. At this time, air in the casting sand 14 is compressed and regulated the invading degree of the setting gas into the casting sand 14. Therefore, only the casting sand within the range of a regulated thickness is set, thereby giving a shell-shaped mold 6.
