Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove a picture noise and a synchronizing disturbance in case of displaying a reproducing picture, by substituting other video signal for a debased part of a reproducing video signal generated at the time of after-recording. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary magnetic head 1 reproduces a video signal from a field period part rF of a recording track being a field period TF, a rotary magnetic head 2 records a PCM signal from a recording signal generating circuit 6 to a superposed part rL of its previous recording track, in a superposed period TL. After that, when the head 1 scans the period part rF and enters into the next field period TF for scanning its following superposed part rL, the head 1 records the PCM signal from the circuit 6 to the superposed part rL in the period TL, and the head 2 reproduces a video signal from the period part rF of the next recording track in the period TF. Subsequently, when the head 2 finishes scanning the period part rF of the next track, scans the following superposed part rL and enters into the next but one field period TF, the same operation is repeated.
