Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten a duplication time by reproducing a video-recorded magnetic tape by a reproducing device which has rotary magnetic heads multiplied by a factor (a), a rotational frequency multiplied by a factor (b), and a tape speed multiplied by a factor (aXb). CONSTITUTION:For a magnetic tape 1, magnetic heads 18, 19, 20, and 21 are arranged in addition to magnetic heads 5 and 6. A recorded tape 1 is run at a high speed (aXb), where (a) is the number of magnetic heads and (b) is a rotational frequency. Video tracks traced by the magnetic heads 5 and 6 are 17-1 and 17-4, and video tracks 17-2, 17-3, 17-5, and 17-6 are scanned by the magnetic heads 18, 19, 20, and 21. Therefore, all tracks of the video tape 1 are scanned by the magnetic heads 5, 6, 18, 19, 20, and 21 and even when the magnetic tape is run at the high speed, all the tracks are scanned, shortening a duplication time.
