Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the calorific value of sound and photo-couplers and to achieve precise coupling by insulating input and output sides of a digital electronic circuit through the sound and photo-couplers. CONSTITUTION:When a signal is required to be transmitted between an input part 11 and an output part 20, voltage is applied between terminals 21 and 22 to drive a light emitting diode 24. Consequently, a phototransistor 16 of a photocoupler 30 is connected. When a signal is supplied to a terminal in said status, an electricity/sound converter is excited, so that the signal applied to the terminal 18 is transmitted to a sound/electricity converter 25 through a sound coupler 31. To improve the reliability of transmission, the photocoupler and the sound coupler may be connected to one coupler in series. Since different transmitting media for sound and light are used, their transmission is not mixed at the inside of the coupler. In addition, electric power for driving the light emitting diode 24 is reduced, preventing the inside of the coupler from temperature rise.
