Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the operating efficiency of a fluidized bed reactor as well as to make the reactor compact by a method in which a vacuum suction system is connected to the lower part of the fluidized bed of a fluidized bed reactor, reaction products are taken out, solids are separated from vapors, and powder is circulated.
CONSTITUTION: In a fluidized bed reaction method using seed particles in the manufacture of uranium oxide from uranium nitrate, etc., a vacuum suction source 3 is connected to the lower part of a fluidized bed, and further provided with a solid- vapor separation means 4 and a powder receiving means 5. After the completion of one unit operation, the suction blower 3 is actuated to transfer powder formed from a reactor tower to the solid-vapor separator 4, where the powder formed is collected and stored. Then, at the beginning of operation, the powder is transferred at any time to a fluidized bed reaction zone. By these ways, the efficiency of operation can be improved while shielding radioactive substances.
