Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a picture having uniform quality without difference in recording density, by controlling a current-applying period to a heating resistor element in response to recording intervals between the preceding recording line and the present recording line. CONSTITUTION:Intervals between a recording-instructing signal SCAN for the preceding line and SCAN for the present line are counted by a clock CLK at a counter 6, the obtained count value is memorized in a memory 7, and then pulses PW having fixed width are outputted through a switch 8 from a current- applying timer 5 by said value. Thereafter, PWs are successivly selectively applied to heating blocks (e.g. R1-R4) to do typeprinting (marks EB1-EB3 are inable signals). In said system, the switch 8 adopts a small resistance (e.g. R14) when the count value is small (consequently, a time constant formed with C1 is small), to set the width of the pulses PW at a smaller level. On the contrary, the switch 8 adopts a large resistance (e.g. R16) when the count value is large, to set the width of PW at a large level.
