Abstract
PURPOSE: To save energy, by using a combination of four evaporators in the five evaporators as two sets of two-effect evaporators without using a mash column, compressing the generated steam, using the compressed steam as a heat source in the former stage, and evaporating the remaining water in the fifth evaporator.
CONSTITUTION: A mash concentrated in an evaporator 1 is fed through a pipe 10 to an evaporator 2, further concentrated, passed through a pipe 11, and evaporators 3 and 4 and discharged from a pipe 13 as a concentrate. A vapor expelled from the evaporator 1 is fed through a pipe 14 to the evaporator 4 and utilized as a heat source for concentration. The vapor from the evaporator 4 is passed through a pipe 15 and a compresor 16 and utilized as a heat source for the evaporator 1. This is the same as in the case of the evaporators 2 and 3. The concentrate discharged from the pipe 13 is introduced into an evaporator 50, concentrated by a heating element 50' and taken out of a pipe 42.
