PURPOSE:To calibrate transmission characteristics without changing the structure of an observation-side circuit and characteristics by controlling the switching of light emitting diodes for outputting calibration light by a calibrating circuit on a detection side which has received a light calibration command signal from an observation side. CONSTITUTION:The C-MOS logical circuit 22 of a calibrating circuit provided on a detection side receives calibration command light from an observation side by a PIN photodiode 15, and starts processing for calibration. Firstly, a semiconductor switch 23 is turned on to put a constant-current circuit 30 in operation. Through the operation of relay driving circuits 24 and 26, relays 25 and 27 are changed over and a semiconductor timer starts operation. At this time, only a light emitting diode 5 turns on by being fed with a constant current from the constant-current generating circuit 30. A relay 29 is energized by a relay driving circuit 28 a time T later and the constant current flows to a light emitting diode 6, which turns on.
