PURPOSE:To enable installation of a gas nozzle having a slant opening edge in the same direction always, by a method wherein a blank for machining the gas nozzle is installed on a fixed installation jig and the blank is machined based on a mark for machining provided on the jig beforehand. CONSTITUTION:In a freely attachable and detachable shielded gas nozzle wherein an opening edge 10a of the shielded gas nozzle 10 is slant with an axial line, and this nozzle 10 is installed on a torch body 2 by screwing a threaded part 10b of the rear edge of the nozzle 10 onto a threaded part 2c of the torch body 2, a machining jig 13 is used for making the nozzle 10. The jig 13 is constituted by forming a male screw 15 having an identical pitch with the above screw 2c on one edge 14a of a pedestal 14 in a body, and forming the tip 14b of the pedestal 14 so that the tip 14b coincides with a tip line of the nozzle 10. Then, after a straight cylindrical shape blank 10c has been screwed onto the male screw 15 of the pedestal 14 the blank is machined along a machining line A for the desired nozzle 10.
