Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the uniform temperature of a pipe body efficiently by finding the ability of heat treatment from the staying time of a material to be treated in a heat t reatment furnace and its heating temperature, and heating the upset part of the steel tube so that it matches with the ability of heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic device 60 determines the heat pattern of each zone of a heat treatment furnace 20 previously on the basis of various data, and controllers 40 and 50 are controlled to heat each zone of the heat treatment furnace 20 to prescribed temperature before a material to be treated is conveyed. The desired temperature of the material on the extraction side of the furnace 20 is determined already and its furnace staying time is estimated. Then, the temperature of the upset part of a pipe at a prescribed time before the extraction side of the furnace 20 is found by reversed arithmetic from the desired temperature and heating temperature, and on the basis of the upset part temperature, the temperature prior to a prescribed time is found by reversed arithmetic. Thus, the temperature of the upset part of the charging end of the furnace 20 is found finally. While attention to natural cooling between a preheater 10 and the furnace 20 is paid, the temperature of the upset part of the exit side of the preheater 10 is found and the heating of the preheater 10 is controlled so that said temperature is obtained.
