Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a surveying device that does not require use of tape by providing scale graduation on parallel lines starting as base point from the intersection which is made by a straight line that passes the base point and intersects perpendicularly the base line and parallel line and by providing a rotating dial that has the original point of the base line as its axis and by providing alidade on the dial. CONSTITUTION:A surveyor selects the measuring point M1 and the original point P, and sets up an L-shaped right-angled pole 1 with its supporting leg 7 standing upright so that the cylindrical leg 6 coincides with the measuring point M1, and the pole 1 is supported horizontally with a circular level 4, and the original point P is sighted with an alidade 5 on the shorter axis 2. Next, the left brim of the rotating dial 13 of a flat survey instrument 10 is made to coincide with the end brim of the long side 12 of a rectangular base plate 11, and the measuring point M1 is sighted through an alidade 14, and then the base plate 11 is fixed and only the dial 13 is made to coincide with the marking M. The right- angled triangle pM1n and a right angle prr1 are similar, and prr1 and rp1p are identical. Accordingly reading of p1r1 on the scale graduation gives the distance p1M directly.
