Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a liquid developer for electrostatic photography having good dispersing stability, by dispersing main components of a colorant in which the surface of a pigment is coated with a specific resin and a polymer resin having vinyl monomer as a unit having fluorine atoms on side chains, into a carrier liquid. CONSTITUTION:A colorant in which the surface of a pigment is coated by flushing with at least one kind of fluorine resin and polyolefin or PVC resin and a polymer resin having vinyl monomer as a unit having fluorine atoms on side chains, are main components, which are dispersed into a carrier liquid having high insulating properties and low dielectric constant such as e.g. petroleum series hydrocarbon, etc. and a liquid developer for electrostatic photography having good dispersing stability, high transcribing rate and good cleanability is obtained.
