NEW MATERIAL:1-N-Acyl derivatives shown by the formulaI(R1 is OH or NH2; R2 and R3 are OH or H; N is 1, 2, or 3) of 6"-chloro-deoxykanamycin A or B by an ω-amino-α-hydroxyalkane acid and their acid addition salts.
EXAMPLE: 6"-Chloro-6"-deoxyamikacin.
USE: An antibacterial agent against resistant bacteria.
PROCESS: For example, an OH at 6" position of a compound (e.g., 2',3',4',2",2'''- penta-O-acetyl-3,6',3",4'''-tetra-N-t-butoxy-carbonylamikacin, etc.) shown by the formula II (R5 is OH, OD, or -NAB; R6 and R7 are H or OD; n is 1, 2, or 3; A is H; B is monofunctional amino or A and B form one bifunctional amino- protecting group; D is acyl; E is H or acyl) is selectively esterified with sulfonic acid and chlorinated, so that the OH and a NH2-protecting group is eliminated, to give a compound shown by the formulaI.
