Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the release of a fuel lid and the theft of furl, by engaging a recess, which is provided on a vehicle body, with a lug in a release prevention device including a mechanism for blooking the vertical movement of the fuel lid.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel lid 11 is provided at one end of the opening 14 of a recess 13 provided on a vehicle body 12. A flange 23 is provided on the periphery of the fuel lid 11. An engaging recess 24 is provided on the flange 23. An engaging lug 25 is provided on the vehicle body 12 so that the lug 25 can be engaged in the recess 24. The lug 25 is secured together with an engaging member 20 on the vehicle body 12 by a fitting member 27. When the lid 11 is moved in a direction to disengage a locking member 19 and the engaging member 20 from each other, the recess 24 and the lug 25 are engaged with each other to hinder the movement of the lid 11. According to this constitution, the unlocking of the lid 11 is prevented by the engagement of the recess 24 with the lug 25 even if an external jimmying force is applied to the lid 11. Fuel is thus prevented from being stolen.
