Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable reducing of the number of inspecting processes, by a method wherein a signal generating means is mounted at a forward end of each of a plural number of contact probes performing a relative movement to each other to detect an assembling position by means of a signal transmitted at a time when the contact probe is brought into contact with a component to be assembled. CONSTITUTION:Consideration is made on the case where a snap ring 4 mates a regular peripheral recess 5 in a ball joint 3. When a signal, generated at a time when an assembling of the snap ring 4 is completed, is inputted, a shaft turns to position two contact probes 9 and 10 above the ball joint 2 and to lower them in the axial direction of the ball joint 3. Following lowering of the contact probes, the first contact probe 9 makes contact with the upper flat surface of the snap ring 4 to actuate an approach switch 19, and another approach switch 20 is not brought to an actuating state. As a result, the approach switch 19 is ON and the approach switch 20 is OFF, and only single type of a signal combination indicates that the snap ring 4 is mounted in a regular position.
