Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to keep the hydrogen gas pressure within a cover tube at optimum condition by a method wherein the quantities of reversible hydrogen absorbing and releasing metallic material and of hydrogen gas are properly regulated in the vacuum tube type solar heat collector. CONSTITUTION:A heat collecting plate 2, over the surface of which a selective absorption film 6 is provided, a heat transfer medium tube 3 and a capsule 4, within which an appropriate quantity of reversible hydrogen absorbing and releasing metallic material 5 is sealed, are provided in the cover tube 1. The hydrogen gas pressure within said cover tube 1 is kept near or below 3X 10<-4>mm.Hg at the temperature of the heat collecting plate of 100 deg.C and near or above 1X10<-2>mm.Hg at that of 250 deg.C.
