PURPOSE:To reduce load to engine at the time of starting operation and consequently reduce the size of the starter motor by controlling the speed of the auxiliary machine to reduced speed driving in variable speed driving equipment for cooling fan, generator and other auxiliary machine, for a certain lenght of time after the engine is started. CONSTITUTION:Outputs of both rotary signal generating device 24 generating H- signal during the operation of the starter motor, and low temperature signal generation means 26, which generates H-signal when the output of cooling water temperature detecting device 25 is lower than a certain value, are processed by NOR- gate 27, and the output is connected to one of the input terminal of AND-gate 28. Also signal of engine rotation speed detecting device 20 is inputted, and the output of auxiliary machine speed change signal generating device 21, which generates H-signal when the speed is exceeding the preset change-over speed, is connected to the other terminal of AND-gate 28 through an inverter 22. Then output of AND-gate 28 is inputted to the electromagnetic drake operation device 23 to make electromagnetic brake 14 inoperative when the input signal is L, and the auxiliary machines 8, 9 are operated under reduced speed through planetary gear mechanism 10.
