Abstract
PURPOSE:To exercise control accurately over the tension of a tape with a simple constitution, by setting the distortion gauges at both sides of an elastic detecting arm that has an elastic deformation due to the tension fluctuation of the tape. CONSTITUTION:When the tension of a tape 3 is appropriate, the balance is kept between the resistance values 14 and 14' of distortion gauges 14 and 14' and a bridge consisting of fixed resistances 22 and 23. Under such conditions, if the tension of the tape 3 increases due to the uneven winding of a reel 1, a post 7 receives the force to cause a deformation to a detecting arm 12 fixed to a support plate 13. Thus the gauge 14 receives the tensile charge at the side of a reel table 1 to decrease the resistance value, and the resistance of the opposite gauge 14' decreases. As a result, the potentional difference is caused between lead wires 15 and 16. The output of the potential difference is supplied to a servo amplifier 21 via a differential amplifier 19 and a filter 20. Thus the torque of a motor 10 is reduced to decrease the tension of the tape 3. On the contrary, the tension of the tape 3 increases by the reversed operation in case the tension of the tape 3 decreased. In such a way, the tension of the tape 3 can be accurately controlled with a simple structure.
