Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the magnetroptical effect and at the same time to obtain a servo guide track, by forming a magnetic thin film containing a magnetization facilitating axis vertical to the film surface on a transparent substrate and then forming a belt-shaped reflecting film on the said thin film. CONSTITUTION:A vertical magnetized film 2 of an amorphous ferrimagnetic material composed of a rare earth group and a transition metal is formed on a substrate 1, and a transparent dielectric film 2 of SiO2, SiO, etc. is formed on the film 2. Furthermore a reflecting layer 4 of Cu, Au, Ag, etc. is formed in a belt shape on the film 3. And a protecting adhesive layer 5 is formed on the layer 4. The laser focused by a condenser lens 10 is irradiated to a track 7 containing a reflecting film, and the information is recorded, reproduced and erased by using the part 11 of the magnetic film corresponding to the reflecting film 4 for a recording track. A Kerr rotational angle is increased by the reflecting film 7 in the reproduction time. The part 8 having no reflecting film is used for a guide track.
