Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare high-purity heteropolyphosphoric acid of the W and Mo type safely and economically, by blending a phosphorus component with a specific W or Mo component in a ratio of the desired composition, subjecting it to ion exchange using a cation exchange resin.
CONSTITUTION: A phosphorus component such as sodium dihydrogenphosphate, etc. is blended with a water-soluble ortho-tungstate such as sodium tungstate or a water-soluble ortho-molybdate such as sodium molybdate, etc. as a W or Mo component in such a way that a molar ratio of PO4/WO3 or MoO3 is made into a ratio which is obtained by calculating the composition of the desired heteropolyphosphoric acid. This mixed solution is treated with a cationic exchange resin (H type) so that the cation in the solution is subjected to ion exchange with the hydrogen ion in the ion exchange resin. Simultaneously in this process, an aqueous solution of high-purity 12-tungstophosphoric acid or 12-molybdophosphoric acid is prepared directly.
