Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a panel switch which is operated as a switch by the contact between transparent conductive films when a transparent glass plate is depressed, by providing spacers which hold and fix two, front and rear transparent glasses, to which transparent conductive films adhere, at a minute interval. CONSTITUTION:A transparent conductive film (nesa film) is stuck to one face of a thick transparent glass 8 to form back electrodes 10a-10c in a form of lines, and the nesa film is stuck to one face of a thin transparent glass plate 7 in a form of columns to form front electrodes 9a-9d. Spacers 11a and 11b are inserted between transparent glass plates 7 and 8 to hold the interval between them constant. Matrix contacts are constituted in this manner; and when a prescribed position of the thin transparent glass plate 7 is depressed, electrodes in corresponding positions of transparent glass plate 7 and 9 are brought into contact with each other, and the depressed position is detected electrically. Thus, the switch operation is possible without the degradation of the display quality in the rear even if this panel switch is mounted on the front of a CRT, and goods difficult to flaw and easy to clean are obtained because the transparent glass plate is used in the front.
